Beach Day Trip from Milan

If you’re looking for a fun day trip from Milan, look no further! Boccadasse is a cute, colourful fishing town easily accessible by train Milan. Spend the day exploring the bay and the restaurants and bars overlooking the water.

It takes roughly 2 hours to get to Boccadasse from Milan, with trains running regularly throughout the day. You will need to get the train from Milan Centrale to Genova Piazza Principe (about 1 hour 40 minutes), then get the train from Genova Piazza to Genova Sturla (about 15 minutes). You can then hop on a bus via line 42 and be at Boccadasse in 5 mins! Alternatively, you could walk from Genova Sturla which only takes about 15 minutes.

Boccadasse is not very big, so it’s easy to explore it all in a day. Take a towel with you so you can take a dip in the sea and enjoy some time lounging on the sand! There’s several cafes, bars, and restaurants to get some food - we enjoyed some pesto pasta from Il Genovese, which is a little street food place close to the beach. If you’re feeling fancy, Boccadasse even has a Michelin Star restaurant - Ristorante Capo Santa Chiara. You can enjoy your meal on their terrace with beautiful views overlooking the bay.
